Icon motorcycle boots range from tall leather styles to waterproof road boots and ventilated, trainer-influenced designs. The collection includes different heights, fastenings, materials and EN 13634 test results, so no single feature applies to every pair.
Choose around your riding conditions and the coverage you want. Waterproof linings suit wet journeys, mesh constructions favour airflow, and a taller shaft can cover more of the lower leg. Then check fit at the heel, ankle, toes and gear-change area.
EN 13634 is the European standard used for protective footwear for motorcycle riders. The numbers following the standard report tested performance categories, while optional letters can identify additional tests such as WR for water resistance. Use the exact marking on the product rather than a general claim about the whole brand.
For example, Icon lists Stormhawk to EN 13634:2017 with a 1 1 2 1 WR result. Hooligan AF CE has its own 1 1 2 1 SRA result. Other models can have different markings, so compare like for like.
The BOA system on Stormhawk and Hooligan AF uses a dial, cable and guides for incremental adjustment. Other Icon boots use laces, zips, straps or buckles. Whatever the closure, the heel should remain seated and the foot should not slide inside the boot when operating the controls.
Remove surface dirt with products suitable for the upper material and let wet boots dry naturally away from direct heat. Keep fastening parts free of grit and inspect the sole, seams and upper regularly. A waterproof membrane does not make water entry impossible if water passes over the cuff, and damaged seams or worn materials can reduce performance.
Moto Central brings the Icon footwear range together so you can compare boot height, waterproofing, fastening and certification in one place. Model and colour details are retained in the product titles, and related model collections provide more focused guidance. WR is an optional water-resistance test marking associated with EN 13634. Look for it in the exact model's certification result.
