Icon body armour includes wearable protection systems and individual inserts for specific areas of the body. Choose by the coverage you need and how the equipment will be retained under or within your riding clothing. A vest, compression garment and knee guard are different solutions, so compare their purpose before comparing their appearance.
Icon’s Field Armor range includes vests, knee and elbow guards, compression shirts and sleeves. Decide whether you need a separate strapped item, a close-fitting carrier or a replacement insert for compatible clothing. Check the exact product’s coverage and supplied protectors. A garment designed to carry armour is not necessarily supplied with every insert you may want.
Read the certification, intended body area and fitting instructions for the individual protector. Do not transfer a rating from one Field Armor model to another or assume all D3O pieces have the same shape and performance level. Replacement straps and other spare components also need to match the specific system. Confirm dimensions and compatibility before buying an insert.
Fasten the equipment as instructed, then check movement and retention while bending your elbows, knees and torso. Your outer clothing must allow the system to sit correctly without excessive pressure or movement. Impact armour is one part of an outfit, so assess abrasion and weather protection separately. Follow the supplied care and inspection advice, particularly after a fall or visible damage.
