Held Textile Jackets

Held textile motorcycle jackets at Moto Central cover waterproof touring, laminated adventure, summer mesh, road, over-jacket and women-specific options. Across this large range, membrane type, garment class, armour, ventilation, lining and proportions differ substantially.
Start with the conditions and journey length, then compare the exact weather construction and protection package. A waterproof laminate, a removable membrane and an open mesh jacket solve different problems. Features from one Held model should never be assumed to apply to another.
Choose by weather system
Waterproof laminate
Lonborg Top bonds its Held-Tex weather layer into a three-layer Tactel laminate. This construction reduces the number of loose layers and is designed for direct weather protection.
Removable membrane
Tourino Top uses a removable Held-Tex Z-Liner. Removing it opens up a lighter configuration, while fitting it restores the stated waterproof and windproof layer.
Fixed membrane
Other touring jackets keep the weather layer in place. This can be convenient when showers arrive unexpectedly, but construction and vent routing still need to be checked.
Direct mesh airflow
Tropic 4 Top has no membrane and uses large mesh zones for hot weather. It needs a separate waterproof layer when rain protection is required.
Touring, adventure and road jackets
Adventure jackets usually combine a longer cut, broad adjustment, storage and ventilation for changing conditions. Touring jackets may use similar features but differ in membrane placement, protective class and matching trouser. Road and urban designs can be shorter and less bulky, while over-jackets serve as an outer weather layer rather than replacing certified protective clothing underneath.
This collection also contains specialist items such as mesh protection jackets and rain shells. Check whether the product is a complete EN 17092 outer garment, an armoured under-jacket or an over-jacket before comparing it directly with a conventional textile motorcycle jacket.
Garment classes and protector levels
EN 17092 garment class applies to the complete jacket, while EN 1621 protector levels apply to individual impact protectors. Lonborg Top is AA with Level 2 shoulder and elbow protection. Tropic 4 Top is Class A with Level 1 D3O Ghost limb armour. Tourino Top is certified under EN 17092-3 and uses Level 1 shoulder and elbow protectors.
Each featured model provides for an optional back protector, and selected jackets also accept chest protection. Match the insert to the jacket size using Held's compatibility information and the options in Held body armour.
How a textile motorcycle jacket should fit
Measure the chest, waist and hips, then compare the model-specific chart. Held offers regular, slim, stocky, tummy and women-specific sizes on selected jackets, but the available groups vary by colour and model. Live Moto Central variants show what can currently be selected.
Riding reach
Fasten the jacket and reach for the bars. The shoulders should move freely, the collar should not press into the throat and the lower back should remain covered.
Armour position
Shoulder and elbow protectors must stay over the joints. Use arm straps and any protector-height system before deciding that a different jacket size is needed.
Layer space
Check fit with membranes and thermal liners installed and removed. Too much summer space can let armour move, while a compressed winter layer can restrict reach.
Cuff connection
Wear the intended Held motorcycle gloves. The glove and sleeve should overlap securely without preventing either closure from fastening.
Ventilation and temperature control
Vent zips, direct mesh and removable layers control temperature in different ways. Lonborg Top has vents at the front, back and arms plus a removable thermal jacket. Tourino Top uses front and rear vents with its removable weather liner. Tropic 4 Top allows continuous airflow through mesh sections.
Airflow also depends on riding position and the motorcycle's screen. A vent behind a large touring screen may receive less pressure than the same vent on a naked bike. Check that every vent can be closed securely before relying on the jacket in changeable conditions.
Connect the jacket to suitable trousers
A connecting zip can help the jacket and trousers stay together, but both halves must match. Pair model families where possible and check the zip length and riding fit rather than relying on colour alone.
Browse Held textile motorcycle trousers and test the joined outfit while seated. The jacket should not be pulled down across the shoulders and the trouser waistband should not be lifted. For women-specific cuts, compare Held women's textile jackets and matching trousers.
Held Clip-in and modular layers
Several Held jackets use Clip-in attachment points for compatible inner products. Compatibility and function vary by model, so confirm the exact layer rather than assuming any Clip-in item fits every jacket. Leave enough room for the chosen layer without moving the armour.
A close-fitting item from Held base layers can manage moisture without creating bulky seams. Add insulation or rain protection only where the jacket's own system and expected conditions require it.
Why compare Held textile jackets at Moto Central?
Moto Central brings together Held touring, adventure, mesh, road, over-jacket and women-specific products with current sizes and colours. Product pages show the individual membrane, armour and garment specification, helping riders avoid treating a 112-product range as if every jacket works the same way.
Our team can help identify whether a fit issue comes from size, proportion group, liner thickness or armour adjustment and can check the jacket with trousers, gloves and back protection as one system. Return to all Held motorcycle gear for the wider range.
Customer questions
Are all Held textile jackets waterproof?
No. Membrane and weather construction vary. Lonborg Top and Tourino Top have Held-Tex systems, while Tropic 4 Top is a non-waterproof mesh jacket.
Do all Held jackets include a back protector?
No. The featured models provide for an optional back protector. Check the exact product and size against Held's compatibility information.
What is the difference between laminate and Z-Liner construction?
A laminate bonds functional layers with the outer material, while a Z-Liner sits separately behind the shell. The effect on weather use, airflow and drying depends on the full jacket design.
Can I wear a mesh jacket in the rain?
A non-waterproof mesh jacket needs a separate waterproof over-jacket. Ensure the outer fits without compressing or shifting the armour.
Can any Held textile trousers connect to any jacket?
No. Confirm the intended model pairing and connecting zip. Matching brand and colour do not guarantee compatibility.
