Held Jeans

Held motorcycle jeans combine an everyday appearance with features intended for riding. Compare the protective garment specification, supplied armour and fit before choosing a wash or cut. Denim styling alone tells you little about the construction beneath it, and ordinary fashion jeans should not be treated as equivalent riding equipment.

Held Crane Stretch Jeans Anthracite — Crane Stretch: a denim-style riding jean.

Held Marlow Biker Low Waist Denim Jeans Black — Marlow: an alternative waist and cut.

Held Dawson Denim Jeans Khaki — Dawson: another casual-looking trouser option.

Read the exact protection specification

Check the certification for the particular jean and distinguish supplied knee or hip inserts from optional additions. Held's Crane Stretch is an example of an elasticated cotton design, but the construction of other jeans may differ. Inspect the stated reinforcement, lining and protector arrangement instead of assuming all riding denim is built alike.

Try them on the bike

Bend your knees and check the position of the knee pockets, the rise at the back and the hem above your boots. A close fashion fit should not prevent movement or force armour away from its intended location. If the waistband fits but the knee position does not, compare another cut or leg length.

Think about daily use

For commuting, consider sitting comfort, pocket placement and how the jeans connect to your jacket. Plan separate weather protection unless the exact garment is specified for rain. Follow the washing instructions for the fabric and protective components; avoid alterations that could move reinforcement or armour pockets without appropriate specialist advice.
