Motocross jerseys are made for the movement of off-road riding, from standing through a technical section to sitting forward for a corner. The right jersey gives you room to ride in your chosen protection, with ventilation and a cut that suit the conditions. Compare lightweight race styles, more relaxed fits and enduro designs by how they work with the rest of your kit.

Choose the jersey around the ride
Airflow and a close fit
For energetic riding in warm conditions, look at mesh coverage, ventilation and stretch through the arms and shoulders. A close race fit needs enough give to reach the bars comfortably. A smaller size is not a substitute for a jersey designed to fit closely.
Coverage for enduro
Think about sleeves, fabric reinforcement and how the hem stays in place when you move. Leatt's 4.5 Enduro design illustrates the balance between a ventilated body and reinforced stretch arm panels. Features vary with model year, so compare the exact version.
Check the fit with your protection on
Start with the manufacturer's chest and size measurements, then try the jersey over the body armour or protective shirt you intend to use. Reach forwards, raise your elbows and bend into a riding stance. Fabric should not pull the protection out of place, bunch at the elbows or leave the lower back exposed.
Collar shape matters if you use a neck brace. Some jerseys are designed to accommodate one, but the brace, armour and helmet still need to work together. Check sleeve cuffs with your gloves and tuck the hem into your trousers to assess the complete fit. Adult, women's and junior patterns can differ in proportion as well as size.
Understand what the fabric does
A mesh or reinforced jersey is not automatically a protective road-riding garment. Read the exact product's intended use and certification, and choose suitable separate impact protection where needed. Stretch, abrasion-resistant panels and cooling features describe different properties; none makes every jersey suitable for every type of riding.
Leatt's UltraWeld family is an example of a stretch race jersey, while other designs favour a more generous cut. Use examples to compare construction rather than assuming one brand's sizing or features apply throughout its range.
Build a comfortable set
Pair the jersey with motocross trousers, compare matching motocross kits, or plan the layers around body armour. Follow the garment's care label after muddy rides and inspect cuffs, seams and fabric before wearing it again.
Try the layers together
Bring your usual armour when visiting Moto Central in Wolvey, Leicestershire. It helps you compare jersey cuts with the equipment you actually ride in. Check the listing or contact us about the item you would like to try.
