Find a motorcycle helmet for the journeys you ride, from the daily commute to touring, track days and off-road weekends. Moto Central brings together full-face, flip-front, open-face and adventure designs from brands including Shoei, Arai, AGV, HJC and Shark. Compare the shape, features and fit before choosing your next helmet.

Start with the type of riding you do
Full-face road helmets
A fixed chin bar and outer visor make full-face helmets a useful starting point for road riding. Compare everyday models such as HJC C10 and AGV K3 with touring and sports designs. Check the view from your normal riding position, as an upright commute and a tucked-in sports bike put different demands on the helmet.
Flip-front and convertible designs
Flip-front helmets use a hinged opening, while convertible helmets offer other ways to change their configuration. The Shoei Neotec 3 is one example of a flip-front design. Check the approved riding positions: a mechanism that opens does not automatically mean it can be used open on the road.
Open-face and classic styles
Open-face helmets suit riders looking for a jet or retro design. They leave the chin exposed, so consider that coverage alongside the appearance. Check whether the model includes an outer visor or needs separate compatible eye protection.
Adventure, motocross and trials
For a mixture of road and trail, explore adventure helmets. Compare motocross helmets for a goggle-based off-road setup, or visit our trials helmet collection for guidance on choosing equipment for trials riding. Match the exact model to your intended use and any event rules.
A good fit comes before the graphics
Measure your head and use the relevant brand's size guide, then try the helmet on. A size label is a starting point, not a guarantee of the same fit across different manufacturers. Look for secure, even contact without painful pressure, and check that the helmet stays stable with the retention strap correctly fastened.
Wear the glasses or other everyday equipment you intend to use with it. Spend time checking the forehead, temples and cheeks instead of judging comfort in a few seconds. If the shape feels wrong, compare another model rather than relying on the lining to solve a poor fit.
Understand approval and comparison information
Check the approval label on the specific helmet. ECE 22.06 is the newer European motorcycle helmet standard, but an ECE 22.05 label does not by itself make an existing helmet illegal for UK road use. Where available, SHARP ratings provide additional independent comparison information; they do not replace a proper fit assessment.
Choose features you will use on every ride
An internal sun visor, anti-fog insert, removable lining and communication-system provision can all influence your choice. Check the actual specification and box contents. For example, the Shoei GT-Air 3 has a separate internal sun visor, but that feature should not be assumed across every full-face model.
Think ahead to replacement parts. Match helmet visors and Pinlock inserts by model and generation. If you want navigation audio or rider-to-pillion communication, compare motorcycle intercoms alongside the helmet before buying.
