Uvex sunglasses offer a choice of sports and everyday styles, with frame shapes and lens options to suit different activities. Choose around comfort, coverage and the light you expect, then check the specification of the individual pair. Adult and children's eyewear need their own fit assessment.
Make sense of Uvex lens names
Uvex uses different technologies for different jobs. Polavision is aimed at reducing distracting reflections and glare; variomatic lenses change tint as light conditions change; colorvision uses colour filtering to enhance contrast. These names are not interchangeable, and a particular pair may offer some features without including all of them.
Sports or everyday wear?
Think about how firmly the frame needs to stay in place and how much coverage you want around the sides. A close sports fit and a relaxed everyday style can feel very different. Try the frame while looking down and turning your head, rather than judging comfort from a brief straight-ahead fit.
Fit for younger wearers
Children's sunglasses should fit the child now, with comfortable nose contact and arms that hold securely. A smaller-looking adult frame is not a substitute for checking the actual dimensions. Ask the wearer about pressure behind the ears as well as whether the glasses slip.
Check the complete specification
Lens colour alone does not establish UV protection, filter category or suitability for a particular activity. Read those details for the chosen model. If you intend to wear sunglasses inside a motorcycle helmet, check clearance and visibility with that helmet on, and follow any manufacturer restrictions on use.
Cases and retention accessories also need to suit the frame. Keep glasses in a case when carrying them with tools or other riding kit. Our wider sunglasses collection offers more frame shapes to compare.
