Autosol metal polish and motorcycle care products help tackle different surface-care jobs, from polishing suitable metal to treating heat discolouration. The right choice starts with identifying both the material and its finish. Bare metal, plated parts and coated surfaces can need different products and application methods.

Choose for the finish, not just the component
Autosol’s traditional metal polish is formulated to clean and polish suitable metals, including the removal of oxidation and surface marks. A part that looks metallic may also have lacquer, paint, anodising or another coating. Check the product’s stated applications and the component maker’s care instructions before polishing it.
Stainless steel and heat staining
Dedicated stainless steel products and Autosol Bluing Remover address different cleaning needs. The manufacturer identifies Bluing Remover for heat discolouration on stainless steel and titanium exhausts. That does not make it an all-purpose cleaner for every exhaust finish, so establish the material before applying it.
Understand the limits of polishing
A polish or scratch remover may improve suitable surface marks, but it cannot replace missing plating or repair deep physical damage. Choose the exact product for the surface involved. Do not transfer a metal-polishing method to a coated helmet visor or painted panel without explicit compatibility guidance.
Prepare the surface and work carefully
Remove loose dirt and grit before starting. Follow the selected product’s instructions for cloth choice, quantity, working time and buffing, testing in an inconspicuous area where appropriate. Use clean cloths so that removed residue and grit are not dragged across the finish. Different Autosol treatments may require different methods; the directions for a polish are not automatically those for a bluing remover.
