Shift It motorcycle care products cover the jobs riders regularly face between journeys, from removing insects and road film from a helmet and visor to freshening the lining, maintaining riding clothing and packing a compact cleaning kit for a trip.
The collection includes dedicated helmet and visor cleaner, anti-fog treatment, polish, interior products, cleaning sponges and cloths, plus textile and leather care. Each product has a specific purpose, so the safest choice is the one that matches the surface, finish and care instructions for your equipment.

Choose the right Shift It product
Helmet and visor cleaner
Use this for compatible outer helmet surfaces and visors when insects, grease or road film have built up. Do not scrub dried debris. Rest a damp, soft cloth over stubborn marks first, then wipe gently with a clean lint-free cloth.
Anti-fog treatment
Anti-fog spray is a separate treatment for the inside of a compatible visor. It is not the same as general cleaner and does not replace ventilation or a correctly fitted anti-fog insert. Follow the application amount and drying instructions on the bottle.
Helmet polish
Polish is intended for suitable glossy finishes. Matt, satin, rubberised and special-effect surfaces may mark or become patchy when polished. Several helmet manufacturers specifically advise against wax or polish on matt finishes, so the helmet manual takes priority.
Interior freshening and sanitising
Helmet Fresh and lining sanitiser help manage odour between deeper cleans. They are not substitutes for washing removable liners when the helmet maker permits it. Use sparingly, keep ventilation passages clear and allow the interior to dry fully before wearing the helmet.
Sponges, wipes and cloths
Bug Buster and Grime Buster sponges, visor wipes and polishing cloths offer different levels of convenience. Keep cleaning materials free from grit and store them separately from tools or dirty workshop cloths. Replace anything that has become rough or contaminated.
Leather and textile care
The wider Shift It range includes leather cleaner and feed, leather waterproofer, textile cleaner and wash-in waterproofer. Match the product to the garment material and care label. A proofer can refresh water repellency but cannot repair worn fabric, failed seams or a damaged membrane.
Important advice for Pinlock inserts and coated visors
Do not assume that a general visor cleaner or anti-fog spray is suitable for every optical coating. Pinlock instructs owners to remove its lens and clean it with mineral water and a clean wet microfibre cloth, then let it dry naturally. Follow the visor or insert manufacturer's instructions whenever they differ from a cleaning-product label.
A simple helmet-cleaning routine
Begin with clean hands and place the helmet on a stable surface. Remove loose dust with a clean cloth, then soften insects and road dirt rather than rubbing them dry. Apply the chosen cleaner as directed, avoiding excess liquid around vents, seals and mechanisms. Use a separate clean cloth for the final wipe.
For the interior, remove cheek pads or the crown liner only if the helmet manual explains how. Wash removable parts according to the maker's instructions, allow them to air-dry completely and never refit damp padding. A freshening spray can be useful between washes, but it should not leave the lining wet.
Inspect the visor while cleaning. Deep scratches, distortion, cracks or damage around the mounting points are reasons to replace it. Cleaning improves clarity, but it cannot restore damaged polycarbonate or a worn coating.
Using Shift It products safely
Test unfamiliar products on a small inconspicuous area. Keep sprays away from the eyes and follow the label for ventilation, contact time and storage. Do not mix cleaning chemicals or transfer them into an unlabelled bottle.
For leather and textile clothing, remove surface dirt before treatment and check whether the garment contains a waterproof membrane, laminated panels, reflective details or bonded logos. These can have different care requirements. Let treated riding kit dry naturally unless its manufacturer gives another method.

Shift It: customer questions
Can I use helmet polish on a matt helmet?
Only if the helmet manufacturer explicitly allows it. Many matt finishes should not be polished or waxed because the appearance can change permanently.
Can visor cleaner be used on a Pinlock insert?
Follow Pinlock's own care instructions instead. Pinlock advises mineral water and a clean wet microfibre cloth, followed by natural drying.
Is anti-fog spray the same as visor cleaner?
No. Cleaner removes dirt, while anti-fog treatment is intended to reduce misting on a compatible inner surface. Use each product only where directed.
Does wash-in waterproofer repair a leaking garment?
It may refresh water repellency on compatible textiles, but it cannot mend tears, failed seam tape or a damaged waterproof membrane.
What is useful for touring?
A compact visor cleaner, clean cloth or approved wipes are practical for road film and insects. A travel pouch keeps the items protected from dirty tools and luggage contents.
