SHAD motorcycle luggage includes top boxes, side cases, soft bags and the mounting hardware needed to fit them to a wide range of motorcycles and scooters. Moto Central also lists inner bags, backrests, replacement components and model-specific kits, so the most reliable way to shop this collection is to choose the fitting system first and capacity second.
A case and a fitting kit may look compatible without using the same mounting family. Check the full motorcycle make, model, engine version and production year in the product title and instructions, then match every case, plate, carrier and adapter by its SHAD reference.
Choose the SHAD fitting system first
Top boxes and Top Master fittings
SHAD top cases normally need a motorcycle-specific Top Master fitting plus the appropriate mounting plate. Some cases include a plate and others depend on a plate supplied separately or with another component. Check the individual listings rather than assuming the case alone is a complete installation.
3P and 4P side systems
The 3P system uses three side attachment points and is designed for compatible SHAD side cases. The 4P system uses a fuller frame and supports the compatible TERRA and selected SHAD side-case families. Compatibility varies by case and motorcycle, and some combinations need an additional adapter.
Soft bags and Click System luggage
Tank bags, seat bags and saddlebags may use straps, magnets, a Click System fitting or a separate side support. Identify the mounting method, included parts and maximum stated load. On tank-mounted luggage, turn the handlebars fully in both directions and make sure the bag does not cover controls or the fuel-cap release.
Plates, adapters and accessories
Backrests, inner bags, coloured covers, lock sets, adapter plates and brake-light kits are usually product-specific. Match the accessory code to the exact case or fitting system. A similar case name or capacity is not enough to confirm compatibility.
Build the system from the motorcycle outwards
Start with the exact bike and year, find the correct Top Master, 3P or 4P fitting, then select a compatible case or bag. Read the fitting instructions before purchase and note any plate, adapter or hardware listed as required but not included. If carrying top and side cases together, confirm that the specific fittings can be installed as a combined setup.
How much motorcycle luggage do you need?
Capacity should reflect the journey and the motorcycle rather than the largest case available. A compact top box can suit commuting and a lockable stop, while paired side cases spread touring luggage across the rear of the bike. Soft luggage can be lighter and easier to remove, but it needs careful strap routing and may use an inner waterproof bag or rain cover.
Check the stated load limit for every case, rack and fitting. Include the weight of the luggage itself when calculating the motorcycle’s payload. Pack dense items low and close to the centre line, balance side cases, and keep straps, bags and fittings clear of the exhaust, wheels, chain or belt, suspension travel, lights and indicators. Recheck all fasteners and the load after the first short ride.
Water resistance, security and everyday use
Water protection differs across SHAD products. Some hard cases are designed to resist normal riding weather, while selected TERRA bags use roll closures and inner waterproof construction. Do not apply one waterproof claim to the entire range. For documents and electronics, follow the specification for the exact product and use an additional dry bag when conditions demand it.
Lockable luggage adds useful resistance to casual access, but a case should not be treated as a safe. Remove valuables when leaving the motorcycle for long periods. Before riding, confirm that lids and release mechanisms are fully latched and that no inner strap or fabric is trapped in the seal.
Why buy SHAD from Moto Central?
This collection brings current cases, bags, fittings and accessories into one place, with product titles that expose the motorcycle application and SHAD reference wherever available. That makes it easier to compare a case with the exact carrier, plate or adapter it requires. For alternatives across hard and soft systems, browse our wider motorcycle luggage range or compare rider-carried options in motorcycle backpacks.
Customer questions
Will any SHAD top box fit any SHAD rack?
No. The motorcycle-specific fitting, mounting plate and case must be compatible. Check the product codes and fitting instructions for every component.
What is the difference between 3P and 4P?
They are different SHAD side-luggage fitting families. The compatible case list and motorcycle hardware vary, so choose the system specified for both the bike and the intended cases.
Can I fit a top box and panniers together?
Often, but not universally. Confirm that the matching Top Master and side fitting can be combined on the exact motorcycle, and follow the joint fitting instructions.
Does the fitting kit include the luggage?
Normally not. A fitting kit is mounting hardware unless the listing explicitly describes a complete luggage set. Check the included-parts list before ordering.
