Monimoto motorcycle GPS trackers add movement alerts and location information to a bike's security setup. Their self-powered design avoids a permanent connection to the motorcycle battery, making them a different proposition from a wired-in tracker. Choose with the alert process, ongoing connectivity and installation position in mind.

Monimoto 9 tracker installation example — Installation example of Monimoto 9, not a universal mounting position. Follow the model’s instructions and test reception and alerts after fitting.

How the tracker and key fob work together

Monimoto uses a separate key fob to recognise authorised movement. With the paired fob nearby, the tracker recognises normal use; movement without it can trigger an alert to your phone and location reporting through the app.

Keep the fob with you, separately from the motorcycle and its keys. Monimoto warns that if the vehicle and fob are stolen together, the nearby fob can prevent the alarm from starting. This part of the daily routine matters as much as choosing a hiding place.

Compare power arrangements

Monimoto 9 has a rechargeable battery and USB-C charging, while Monimoto 7 uses replaceable lithium AA batteries. These examples illustrate a practical difference between generations. Plan access for charging or battery replacement and check the instructions for the exact unit.

Check service requirements

The tracker communicates through a mobile network using its embedded eSIM. An ongoing subscription is required after the included service period. Check current terms, supported countries and network coverage before buying, especially if the motorcycle travels abroad.

Install, test and keep it ready

Follow the model's positioning guidance and test the alert process after installation with the fob out of range. Check that calls and app notifications reach the phone you will use, and keep track of battery and service status.

Tracking helps detect unexpected movement and provides location information; it does not physically secure the bike or guarantee recovery. Pair it with appropriate motorcycle locks and chains, and compare other motorcycle trackers if your requirements differ. Reception and installation conditions can affect performance.

Choose tracking around your routine

Talk to Moto Central about how and where you use your motorcycle. We can help you compare practical differences between tracker models and the checks to make before installation.
