Longride motorcycle luggage combines traditional materials and classic styling with practical ways to carry kit on the bike. Saddlebags, tail bags and smaller bags can suit a daily ride or a longer escape, but the right choice involves more than appearance. Compare the attachment system, usable space and weather protection alongside the shape that suits your motorcycle.

Choose the material and the job
Waxed canvas and leather are central to Longride's retro luggage designs. They suit riders who want a bag that looks at home on a classic, custom or modern retro motorcycle and can also be carried away from it. Start with the load: a tool roll organises compact equipment, a saddlebag carries alongside the bike and a tail bag uses the space behind the rider.
Water repellent is not fully waterproof
Longride describes the Racer SB waxed-canvas saddlebag as water repellent and specifies an optional waterproof liner for fuller protection of its contents. Check the construction of your chosen bag and whether a correctly sized liner is included. A waterproof zip alone does not tell you that the complete bag is waterproof.
Choose the mounting version carefully
Longride offers different attachment arrangements. The Racer SB, for example, uses Saddleback mounting; other bags can use different hardware. Match the bag version and support together, and check removal and carrying arrangements if you plan to take the bag into work or accommodation.
Do you need saddlebag supports?
That depends on the motorcycle and the installation. Longride's guidance calls for secure upper and lower attachment, clearance from the rear wheel and adequate distance from hot exhausts. Dedicated rails can provide support and keep the bag in a useful position. A universal mounting description does not guarantee that a bag can hang safely from any seat.
Consider passenger legroom, indicators and suspension movement, especially on a compact bike or one with a high exhaust. Measure with the bag packed rather than judging only its empty shape. Follow the care instructions for the particular fabric or leather, and compare other motorcycle luggage if you need a different carrying arrangement.
