Inuteq cooling vests and accessories offer different ways to add cooling beneath or alongside your riding kit. The key choice is the cooling method: water-activated evaporative products and phase-change systems work differently. Consider airflow, humidity, preparation and how the item will fit with your protective clothing.

Two approaches to personal cooling
Evaporative cooling
Products such as the Bodycool Smart-X use water and evaporation to provide cooling. Their performance depends on conditions including airflow and humidity, so think about the clothing worn over them. Activation differs by design: follow the instructions for filling or wetting the particular product, rather than treating every cooling vest the same way.
Phase-change cooling
PCM systems use material prepared in advance to provide cooling at a specified phase-change temperature. They offer an alternative where evaporation is less practical, including humid conditions or restricted airflow. Check the preparation instructions and the means of reactivating the inserts before planning a long day away from home.
Understand the temperature and contents
The temperature printed on a PCM product describes the cooling material's phase-change point. It is not a promise to lower your body temperature by that number of degrees. Compare the intended use and recommended insert choice for the garment. Some vests, including the Bodycool Hybrid, are listed separately from their PCM inserts, so check the package contents carefully.
Fit cooling into your riding outfit
Allow room for the vest and any inserts without making your jacket tight or displacing its armour. Inuteq also makes cooling accessories for areas such as the neck, alongside towels and other formats. Check each item's activation and care instructions individually; removable inserts and textile garments may need different treatment.
