Belstaff motorcycle clothing combines recognisable heritage styling with garments designed for riding. Waxed jackets, leather pieces and riding shirts can all form part of that wardrobe, but the practical differences matter as much as the look. Consider jacket length, weather protection, armour and room for layers before deciding which Belstaff design fits your journeys.

Identify the motorcycle version

Belstaff produces everyday clothing as well as motorcycle equipment. A familiar model name, waxed finish or shoulder patch does not establish a garment's protective specification. Read the exact product description and certification label, including the model generation. Check whether a back protector is included or whether the jacket only has a pocket ready to accept one.

Waxed outer, separate weather features

The researched Crosby motorcycle jacket combines technical waxed fabric with a breathable waterproof membrane and removable D3O shoulder and elbow armour. Its published garment classification is AA. These are details of that motorcycle version, not promises applying to every Belstaff waxed jacket.

Length and adjustment

A longer belted jacket and a shorter riding jacket can feel quite different when seated. Check where the hem falls, whether the front bunches at the waist, and how the cuffs meet your gloves. Fasten the collar and adjustments with your usual layers underneath before judging the size.

Care for the actual finish

Belstaff's general waxed-cotton guidance advises against machine washing, tumble drying and dry cleaning, and explains cleaning and rewaxing. Always follow the label for your particular garment. Cotton reproofing wax is not intended for waxed leather, so choose a treatment for the material rather than using one product across the whole outfit.

If you are building a complete riding wardrobe, compare the coverage and fit of your motorcycle gloves and boots alongside the jacket. For an alternative silhouette, explore our broader motorcycle jacket collection. The Belstaff examples pictured here illustrate materials and styles, without implying that any one model defines the range.
