Atlas neck braces and collars are designed to work as part of an off-road riding outfit, with adult and youth options to consider. Look beyond appearance when comparing them: the frame design, intended function and fit with your helmet and body armour all matter. A collar and a full-frame brace are different choices.

Understand the difference between designs
Atlas Air and Air Lite illustrate the full-frame brace format. Vision takes a different approach: Atlas describes it as an anti-compression collar, with the traditional front and rear shelves removed to allow more movement. Its stated purpose is to reduce compression forces only, so it should not be assumed to offer the same functions as a full-frame brace.
Measure around the chest
Atlas bases brace sizing on chest circumference, measured just below the arms. Use the chart for the particular model rather than choosing from helmet size or neck measurement. Youth models such as Prodigy also need a proper measurement and fitting check; age alone is not enough.
Try it with your other equipment
Bring your helmet and chest or body protection into the fitting process. Check the manufacturer's adjustment guidance and how the equipment sits together in your riding position. Atlas recommends using its supplied straps, so include the retention arrangement when assessing comfort and stability.
Take time over adjustment
Model-specific pads and mounting adjustments can change the fit. Use the instructions for your exact brace or collar rather than copying another rider's settings, and recheck the combination when changing helmets or body armour. Compare the manufacturer's stated purpose and limitations before deciding which design suits your riding.
