Boldaro or Talon: Which Graphic Should You Choose?

The four Boldaro versions share the same flowing graphic language, but their colour palettes give each helmet a noticeably different personality. TC-5 Black/Silver is the most versatile and discreet, while TC-12 Black/Orange introduces stronger contrast without becoming overly bright. TC-10 White/Blue/Red has the clearest racing influence, and TC-11 Black/Beige offers the most unusual, lifestyle-led finish.

Talon TC-1 Black/Red stands apart from the Boldaro family. Its bolder colour contrast and more forceful graphic treatment suit riders who want their touring helmet to have a sportier edge.

  • For maximum versatility: Boldaro TC-5 Black / Silver
  • For warm, high-contrast colour: Boldaro TC-12 Black / Orange
  • For a classic sporting look: Boldaro TC-10 White / Blue / Red
  • For subtle individuality: Boldaro TC-11 Black / Beige
  • For the boldest appearance: Talon TC-1 Black / Red

The Shoei GT-Air 3 Touring Platform

The GT-Air 3 is designed for riders who want the protective coverage of a premium full-face helmet together with everyday touring convenience. It works naturally across commuting, weekend rides and longer-distance journeys, where comfort, clear vision, ventilation and communication-system integration all matter.

Shoei developed the shell and aerodynamic profile in its wind tunnel. The integrated rear spoiler helps manage airflow around the helmet, while the overall shape is intended to support stability at speed. Three outer shell sizes help keep the helmet proportionate across its XS to XXL size range.

Touring Comfort

A removable interior, adjustable ventilation, integrated sun visor and carefully balanced shell make the GT-Air 3 well suited to everyday road use and longer journeys.

Modern Integration

Shoei Comlink preparation allows a compatible communication system to fit neatly into the helmet without disrupting its exterior profile.

AIM Shell and Multi-Density EPS

The GT-Air 3 uses Shoei’s AIM shell construction. Organic and multi-composite fibres are layered to create a strong outer structure with the elasticity required to distribute impact energy. Inside it sits a multi-density EPS liner, with different densities used to manage energy in specific areas of the helmet.

This combination allows the outer shell and inner liner to work together while also creating space for ventilation channels. The helmet is approved to ECE 22.06, the current European standard for motorcycle helmets, when worn and fastened correctly.

CNS-1C Visor and QSV-2 Sun Visor

The clear CNS-1C visor provides the wide field of vision expected from a premium touring helmet. It is Pinlock-ready, and a Pinlock insert is included to help reduce misting in cold or damp conditions.

A QSV-2 internal sun visor can be lowered when light conditions become brighter, then raised again without changing the main visor. This is particularly useful on touring routes where the rider may move repeatedly between open sunlight, shade and changing weather.

The visor system is supported by the helmet’s secure central locking arrangement, while the included breath guard and chin curtain help manage airflow around the face and lower opening.

Ventilation for Changing Conditions

Closable air intakes at the brow and chin allow incoming airflow to be adjusted to suit temperature and riding conditions. Rear outlets help draw warm air away through channels in the EPS liner, creating a controlled path through the helmet rather than relying on a single intake point.

An integrated insect filter adds practicality for touring and warm-weather use. All external ventilation controls are designed to remain accessible while wearing suitable motorcycle gloves.

Removable Interior and Everyday Fit

The interior is fully removable and washable, making it easier to keep the helmet fresh during regular use. Carefully shaped cheek pads and the centre pad help create a stable fit, while replaceable components allow the interior to be renewed or adjusted where suitable parts are available.

Shoei’s Emergency Quick Release System allows trained responders to remove the cheek pads more easily in an emergency. The helmet uses a stainless-steel micro-ratchet fastening system, providing straightforward and repeatable adjustment for road use.

Shoei Comlink and Sena SRL3 Preparation

The GT-Air 3 is prepared for Shoei’s Comlink integration system and the compatible Sena SRL3 communication system. The arrangement is designed to position the main communication components neatly around the helmet, preserving a clean profile compared with a conventional universal unit fixed to the outside.

A communication system remains optional and should always be installed according to its instructions. Speakers should sit within the intended recesses without creating pressure against the rider’s ears or changing the secure fit of the helmet.

Pre-Order the New Shoei GT-Air 3 Colours

All five new Shoei GT-Air 3 helmets are available to pre-order now from Moto Central in sizes XS to XXL. The latest price shown across the new graphics is £649.99, with live product pages providing the current size and availability information.

Helmet fit is personal, so riders should measure carefully and choose the correct size rather than selecting purely from a previous helmet label. A correctly fitted GT-Air 3 should sit securely around the head without rotating excessively or creating isolated pressure points.

Moto Central Verdict

These five new colours give the Shoei GT-Air 3 range considerably more personality without changing the qualities that make the helmet such a strong premium touring option.

The four Boldaro designs cover a broad spectrum. Black/Silver is clean and versatile, Black/Orange adds warm contrast, White/Blue/Red brings a classic sporting feel, and Black/Beige offers something more distinctive and understated. Talon TC-1 Black/Red provides the aggressive alternative for riders who want the strongest visual impact.

Underneath the graphics, every helmet benefits from the same AIM shell, multi-density EPS liner, ECE 22.06 approval, CNS-1C visor, included Pinlock insert and QSV-2 sun visor. The removable interior, adjustable ventilation and Comlink preparation reinforce its credentials as a helmet intended for regular, real-world road use.

For riders already considering the GT-Air 3, the expanded colour range makes the choice easier. The specification remains consistent, so the decision can come down to the design that best fits the rider, motorcycle and kit.
