Advanced Multi-Composite Shell

The S-R7 outer shell combines carbon, aramid fibre and fibreglass in a pre-preg epoxy resin construction. The layers are arranged to balance low weight, strength, energy management and penetration resistance. Three outer-shell sizes help keep the helmet's proportions and fit better matched across the XS to 2XL size range.

Layered protection without unnecessary bulk

The multi-composite structure is designed to disperse impact energy while retaining the radial strength expected from a performance road and track helmet.

Seven-Piece, Six-Density EPS

Inside the shell is a seven-piece EPS liner made with six different densities. Each section is positioned to manage impact energy in a specific area, while the liner dimensions are tailored to each helmet size. A patented low-friction coating on the EPS surface is intended to reduce rotational acceleration during oblique impacts.

Precision-engineered impact management

Multiple EPS components and densities allow the inner shell to respond differently across key impact zones instead of relying on one uniform foam structure.

Aerodynamics and Collarbone Protection

The streamlined profile, integrated rear spoiler and lateral winglets are shaped to reduce turbulence and drag while improving high-speed stability. Recesses at each side of the lower shell improve collarbone clearance, with PLASMA inserts added to absorb energy around this sensitive area.

Optimised shell design

The shape is developed for stability and reduced neck load, with lower-shell geometry intended to minimise collarbone contact in a slide.

Ten-Port Ventilation System

Six intake ports and four exhaust ports move air through the helmet. Three chin intakes and three top intakes feed fresh air inside, while side chin-bar and rear extractors release warm, humid air. The complete top vent section slides to reveal three airflow channels, and air from the chin vent is directed towards the visor to help reduce misting.

Airflow for road and track riding

The intake and extraction layout is designed to supply cooling air while clearing heat and moisture from the shell.

Wide Vision and Class 1 Visor

The eye port provides a claimed 220-degree peripheral view and 57-degree vertical view. Its ECE 22.06-homologated optical Class 1 visor has double-sided anti-scratch treatment and varies from 1.6 mm thick at the sides to 2.6 mm in the centre. A secure tool-free mechanism allows quick visor changes, and a Pinlock 120 MaxVision anti-fog insert is included.

A clear view in an active riding position

The broad eye port is designed to preserve lateral and upward vision whether the rider is upright on the road or tucked in on track.

Patented A-Head Fitment System

Alpinestars' A-Head system lets the rider fine-tune how high or low the helmet sits and adjust its forward or rearward angle. A micro-adjustable pad connects to the EPS liner, allowing a more personalised position than a conventional fixed crown arrangement.

The adjustable internal position helps riders tailor comfort, eye-port alignment and helmet balance to their head and riding posture.

Who Is the Alpinestars S-R7 For?

The S-R7 is aimed at riders who want a lightweight, race-influenced helmet without limiting it to track use. Its broad vision, strong ventilation, adjustable fit, supplied Pinlock and communication-system preparation make it relevant to fast road riding, sport touring and track days alike.

The four solid colours keep the price at £449.99, while the A-Core, Kinetis, Lumen and Zeal graphics are £539.99. Taiyo Furusato sits at the top of the launch line-up at £599.99 for riders who want the most distinctive design.

Pre-Order and Release Information

All 14 Alpinestars S-R7 helmet colours are listed at Moto Central for pre-order ahead of the planned 16 October 2026 release. Availability can vary by colour and size, so choosing early is the best way to secure a preferred combination from the first delivery.

Release dates are supplied in advance and can change if the manufacturer or distributor updates the launch schedule.

Moto Central Verdict

The S-R7 looks like a convincing bridge between a focused race helmet and a premium everyday full-face. Its layered composite shell, unusually detailed EPS construction and A-Head fit adjustment are the headline technologies, but practical touches such as the included Pinlock, washable lining, glasses channels and A-Connect preparation should matter just as much in regular use. With 14 launch finishes, there is also far more choice than a typical new-model debut.
