What is Shoei PFS and why do I need it?

In March 2024 Moto Central Ltd became one of a select few dealerships in the UK which have been trained to carry out the Shoei P.F.S (personal Fitting System) service. This service is designed to ensure your Shoei helmet fits you perfectly so you can finally get that “fits like a glove” feel on your noggin. Many people might wonder why Shoei have decided to launch a service like this as they’re one of the best fitting off-the-shelf lids on the market but quite honestly it’s an easy one to answer. Each and every person has their own shape head, some being more rounded and others being more oval. Some being taller and some being shorter and everything in between you can possible imagine. Whilst a helmet might fit pretty well, there’s no better way to guarantee perfect comfort whilst riding than this new service. There’s often people out there who might think one certain brand is the only one for them and even those who couldn’t before fit into a Shoei helmet comfortably can now have this service to ensure they get the right helmet for them too. And for those who simply love Shoei helmets and want one no matter what, this is the ultimate was to spruce up that extra comfort whilst riding.

What’s involved in a Shoei PFS Fit?

Shoei PFS fitting normally takes around 30 minutes give or take to ensure we can measure you’re head and get the best custom fit for you. Essentially Shoei Japan have built up a system full of data over many years on what would best suit each and every individual. We take 4 different measurements from you which we input into Shoe’s algorithm which throws us a couple of options in each different helmet which could be best suited to you. It’ll tell us which shell size would be best suited and after this it’ll tell us where in said helmet you might need some additional padding to get the perfect fit. We’ll them do some trial fitments with yourself to make sure you’re happy with the fit and ultimately stick the padding inside the helmet permanently so you can ride along knowing you’ve got the best fit possible.

How much does it cost?

A Shoei PFS fit costs £50 to have done. During this time you’ll get years worth of data translated through expert knowledge passed down from Shoei Japan to the UK’s Shoei PFS trainer and then down to retailers like ourselves. Here at Moto Central we have decided to train as many staff as possible to offer this service as we believe it’s the best thing to have hit the motorcycle helmet market for a very long time. This isn’t something any old Shoei dealer is able to perform. Feridax (The UK distributor for Shoei helmets) have selected only a handful of their dealers to be able to offer this to the public, and we have had to go through extensive training to make sure our staff can translate exactly how Shoei Japan would like this to be. We’re so confident you’ll love this service that if you find that it simply isn’t for you (which even the fussiest of customers haven’t found) then we won’t charge you a penny for this service.
