Laminar combines the easy visibility and open feel of a jet-style helmet with a full-length visor for extra coverage. SMK uses three outer shell sizes rather than a single shell across the complete range, helping smaller and larger sizes retain a more balanced profile. The multi-density EPS liner sits beneath the EIRT thermoplastic shell, while the removable interior makes routine cleaning easier for regular commuters.
As an open-face helmet, the Laminar does not have a protective chin bar. Riders who want chin and jaw coverage should choose a suitable full-face or approved flip-up helmet.
Visor and ventilation
A long clear visor is supplied and fitted to the helmet. It is scratch resistant and uses SMK's quick-release mechanism. SMK also offers an alternative shorter goggle-style visor, sometimes called the Laminar chopper visor, plus replacement visors in other finishes. These alternatives are separate accessories and are not included with this MA200 helmet.
Top air vents feed the helmet's ventilation path, with channelled exhausts helping warm air move out. The breathable, moisture-managing liner is removable and washable, which is useful for frequent warm-weather and urban use.

Measure around the widest part of your head, passing just above the eyebrows and ears. The helmet should sit evenly and securely, with the comfort lining in contact all around and no independent movement when the fastened helmet is gently rotated. This listing is available in XS to 3XL.
