RST body armour includes garment inserts, wearable armour shirts, back and chest protectors, hip and limb pieces, plus airbag vests and shirts. These are not interchangeable categories: every protector has a body zone, level, shape and compatibility requirement.
Choose the correct type of protection
- Garment inserts: shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, back and chest pieces must match the intended pocket dimensions and body zone.
- Wearable armour: shirts and standalone protectors use their own sizing and should stay stable beneath compatible outerwear.
- Airbag products: the D3O Essential Airbag Vest and Race Dept Performance Airbag Shirt use In&motion technology and need suitable space, setup and activation.
Fit and compatibility checks
An insert should sit flat inside the correct pocket without folding or shifting. A wearable protector should remain centred when you reach for the bars and move through a normal riding position. For airbag equipment, follow the product instructions for outer-garment clearance and system status before every ride.
Official RST information identifies the current Race Dept D3O Armour Shirt with Level 2 protection and the Essential Airbag Vest with a D3O back protector and optional chest-protector pockets. Those specifications are limited to those named products.
