What defines the SG-12 Enduro?
Gaerne Enduro sole
The Enduro-specific tread is designed to add traction on wet, muddy and uneven ground while retaining a boot platform developed for technical off-road riding.
Dual Stage Pivot System
Gaerne's DSPS provides lateral support and restricts over-compression and hyperextension while allowing controlled movement at the gear lever and rear brake.
Structured upper
A PU-injected shin plate, shaped heel cup and precision-formed toe box support the foot and lower leg without overlooking control feel.
Serviceable construction
Four lightweight replaceable buckles secure the boot, while the Goodyear-welted sole construction allows specialist resoling when the rest of the boot remains suitable.
SG-12 Enduro versus SG-12 MX
The standard SG-12 MX collection uses Gaerne's Dual Composite motocross sole, shaped around grip on cross-pegs. SG-12 Enduro uses a treaded Enduro sole intended to provide more useful traction when the rider is off the pegs.
That difference matters when walking sections, pushing the motorcycle, stopping on a slope or putting a foot down on loose ground. It does not mean the Enduro version is waterproof, and no waterproof membrane is specified for this model.

Fit, calves and knee-brace clearance
Measure both feet and try the boots with the socks, riding trousers and knee protection that will be used on the motorcycle. The heel should remain seated, the toes should clear the front and the foot should not slide sideways.
The four-buckle system includes adjustable upper closures, with the first two top buckles providing extra scope for larger calves or knee braces. Start with the straps near the middle of their range and close them progressively from the lower foot upwards.
Move between seated and standing riding positions and operate the controls. The boot should feel structured and supportive, but sharp pressure, numbness or crushed toes indicates that the size or adjustment needs attention.
Grip Guard, lining and footbed
Rubber Grip Guard material on the inner side supports contact with the motorcycle and adds heat-resistant padding. Inside, Gaerne Memory Cell Foam is designed to provide a supportive feel around the foot and ankle.
The moulded insole includes shock-absorbing material towards the rear and ventilation through the front section. These features support comfort but should not be mistaken for a waterproof membrane.
Certification and care
Gaerne states that the current SG12 Enduro is CE certified to EN 13634:2017 under EU Regulation 2016/425 and made in Italy. Certification does not replace correct fit, maintenance or the rest of the rider's protective equipment.
Remove mud before it hardens around the pivot areas, buckles and welted sole edge. Clean using products suitable for the materials and allow the boots to dry naturally away from direct heat. Avoid forcing closures or using high-pressure water around openings and hardware.
Inspect the shin plate, heel, toe, DSPS components, Grip Guard, buckles, straps and tread before every ride. Replacement parts and resoling must be confirmed for the exact SG-12 Enduro generation, size and boot condition.
