The Bell Race Star DLX Flex is an ECE 22.06 carbon full-face helmet for riders who want a race-influenced fit and field of view without limiting the helmet to circuit days. Moto Central’s collection includes solid, high-contrast and Roland Sands Design finishes built around the same current specification.
Bell combines a 3K carbon-fibre shell with its three-layer Flex energy-management liner, five shell sizes and a ProTint photochromic shield. The result is a focused sports helmet that can move between fast road riding, commuting and track-day use when the relevant organiser accepts its approvals.
Bell’s Flex system uses three different liner layers intended to manage energy across different impact conditions. Five shell sizes and six impact-liner sizes help reduce unnecessary bulk across the size range.
The supplied ProTint shield reacts to UV light, staying clearer in lower light and darkening in stronger sunlight. It is not an instant substitute for judging conditions, and its response can be affected when UV is filtered by a motorcycle screen.
Start with measured head circumference, then use the size chart on the exact product page. A sports helmet should feel evenly close around the crown and cheeks, remain stable during deliberate head movement and avoid a sharp pressure point. Assess the view both upright and in the forward position you use on the motorcycle.
The solid and graphic helmets share their principal construction, so colour can be chosen after fit. Bell quotes approximately 1540 g, plus or minus 50 g in size M; the actual weight varies with size. If you use an intercom, check speaker position and cable routing without cutting the liner or compressing protective material.
For track use: ECE 22.06 road approval does not automatically satisfy every circuit or race series. Check the organiser’s latest helmet, visor and technical-control rules, including any requirements for a double-D fastening, stickers or additional homologation.
Moto Central brings the current ECE 22.06 colours together with clear product photography and UK-based fitting support. We can help distinguish these helmets from the remaining earlier ECE 22.05 Race Star and identify compatible replacement parts by generation.
No. It changes tint in response to UV exposure. Carry an appropriate clear option if your journey or event conditions require one.
The active Race Star DLX Flex helmets in this collection are named ECE 22.06. Confirm the approval label inside the delivered helmet.
The Pro Star is a separate model with its own shell construction, specifications and homologation variants. Choose by exact model rather than price or appearance alone.
Bell specifies removable Ionic+ comfort padding. Follow the supplied care instructions, hand wash gently and air dry fully away from direct heat.
