Moto Central's kids' range brings together road and off-road motorcycle equipment made in youth sizes. It includes helmets, motocross boots, gloves, jerseys, trousers, kit sets, body armour and a smaller selection of casual products. These items do not all provide the same kind of protection, so the first decision is whether the child will be a road passenger, learning off road or simply needs casual teamwear.

Choose equipment for the type of riding
A young road passenger needs a road-legal helmet that fits correctly, fastens securely and works with suitable protective clothing, gloves and boots. UK law requires riders and pillion passengers on motorcycles, scooters and mopeds to wear an approved helmet. A youth-labelled product is not automatically the correct size, and an adult helmet in a small shell is not automatically unsuitable: head measurement, internal shape and secure fit matter more than the marketing label.
Motocross equipment is built around a different riding environment. A motocross helmet is normally used with goggles, while jerseys and pants are designed for movement, ventilation and use with separate armour. A jersey and trouser kit should not be assumed to provide the abrasion or impact performance of certified road clothing. Boots, knee protection, gloves, body armour and the correct helmet need to be considered as a complete system.
Getting children's sizing right
Measure the child each time equipment is replaced. Children grow at different rates, and sizes marked by age, height, chest, waist, hand circumference or shoe size are not directly interchangeable between brands. Use the manufacturer's chart for the exact product.
- Helmets: measure around the widest part of the head and check for an even, secure hold with no independent movement. The fastening must be correctly adjusted.
- Boots: allow normal socks and enough toe room, but make sure the heel does not lift excessively and the child can operate the controls.
- Gloves: fingers should reach the ends without bunching, while the child must still be able to use the brake, clutch and switches.
- Armour and clothing: protective pieces need to remain over the intended areas in the riding position. Oversized kit can move away from the body.
Do not buy protective equipment several sizes too large in the hope that it will last longer. A useful growth adjustment is one the manufacturer has designed into the garment; loose equipment is not the same thing.

Why buy kids' motorcycle gear from Moto Central?
The range covers multiple disciplines and brands, making it easier to compare youth sizes without treating all children's equipment as one product type. The focused collections separate boots, gloves, clothing and motocross kits, while individual listings show the available sizes and product-specific features. This is especially useful when a child needs a mixed-brand setup because one maker's helmet, boots and gloves rarely share the same sizing system.
Kids' motorcycle gear questions
Can I buy a helmet with room for a child to grow?
No. A motorcycle helmet needs to fit securely at the time it is used. Follow the model's size chart and check the fit carefully rather than choosing an oversized shell.
Is every product in this collection protective motorcycle equipment?
No. The automatic kids' collection includes casual items and accessories as well as protective equipment. Read the individual product description and certification details.
Can motocross jerseys and pants be used as road protection?
They should not be assumed to provide road-clothing abrasion or impact protection. Off-road kits are normally worn with separate armour and other discipline-specific equipment.
How often should children's gear be checked?
Check the fit before each riding period and whenever the child has grown. Also inspect closures, seams, armour position and any impact damage before use.
