Refresh the comfort of your helmet with replacement cheek pads, centre liners and model-specific padding kits. Motorcycle helmet padding must match the exact helmet, size allocation and fitting system. Start with the model label and the codes on your existing pads, then compare the replacement thickness and components supplied.

Identify the comfort padding you need
Replacement cheek pads
Cheek pads support the fit around the sides of your face. Check whether the listing supplies a pair or another arrangement, and match the attachment system to your helmet. Some models offer alternative thicknesses, but the permitted choices depend on that helmet's design.
Centre and crown liners
The centre liner sits around the top of your head. Its size code may differ from the size printed on the helmet. SHOEI's Type Q range, for example, uses specific model and size allocations, so a liner should be selected from the maker's fitment information.
Complete interior kits
A kit may combine the crown liner and cheek pads. Read the contents carefully: the word interior does not establish that every removable comfort component is supplied. Compare a complete kit with separate pads when only one area needs replacing.
Model-specific comfort parts
Neck rolls, covers and other removable pieces vary between helmets. Some are separate items; others form part of a larger liner assembly. Identify the component in the manufacturer's diagram before choosing a replacement by appearance alone.
Match the full model name and generation
Start with the helmet's label, including any suffix, generation or approval-version detail used in the fitment listing. Closely related names do not mean that the padding is interchangeable. A familiar shape in a photograph is useful for orientation, but it cannot replace the correct part reference.
Where possible, note the code and thickness printed on the original pad. SHOEI's Type Q guidance identifies the existing liner label as a useful reference. Keep that information alongside your helmet size when comparing replacements or asking for help.
Can different padding improve helmet fit?
Some helmet ranges offer manufacturer-approved padding choices to refine comfort. The SHOEI NXR2, for example, has centre and cheek pads in different thicknesses. This is a model-specific adjustment, not permission to fit any pad or turn an incorrectly sized helmet into the right one.
If the helmet has become loose or uncomfortable, assess the whole fit before ordering. Worn comfort foam, the original helmet size and the position of other equipment can all be relevant. Check intercom accessories separately if speaker placement is creating pressure.
Comfort lining is separate from the protective liner
The soft, removable padding is different from the helmet's impact-absorbing inner liner. Replacing cheek pads or a textile crown liner does not repair crash damage or renew the helmet's protective structure. A helmet worn during an accident should be replaced in line with the manufacturer's guidance.
Refit and care for the new padding correctly
Follow the exact helmet manual when releasing clips, removing pads and refitting every required component. Check that the pads are fully secured before wearing the helmet. Use the stated washing and drying method rather than assuming all removable interiors tolerate the same treatment.
For routine care, browse helmet cleaning products. For a broken clip, visor mechanism or other component, use helmet spare parts and confirm whether it is supplied separately from the padding.
