Born in Bergamo (1974)
Caberg began in 1974 in Bergamo, a city in northern Italy. The name blends ‘Caschi’ and ‘Bergamo’, paying homage to its roots. The brand’s first offerings included a full‑face helmet and an open‑face model with a peak, setting the tone for future innovation.
Early Innovations (1978-1986)
In 1978, Caberg introduced their Ventura design featuring a spring‑release visor mechanism, alongside the Total Cross, their first helmet for off‑road use. By the mid‑80s, the brand added models with larger visors, off‑road variants, and dual‑sport options all improving safety and versatility for different riding styles.
A Flip‑Up Game Changer (1992-1998)
In 1992, Caberg emerged as the first Italian helmet maker, and second in the world, to release a flip‑up (modular) helmet. Its later models perfected the format especially one that allowed riders to convert the chin guard into position with the push of a single button.
Sunvisor Integration (2002-2005)
Early in the 2000s, Caberg launched helmets with integrated sun visors. These included open‑face and full‑face designs that offered both style and sun protection in one package, enhancing convenience for touring riders.
Modern Materials and Designs (2008-2014)
Caberg kept pushing forward with the use of cutting‑edge materials and modern design features. This period saw the introduction of carbon‑fibre shells, advanced ventilation systems, and the world’s first flip‑up helmet tailored for dual‑sport riding.
Fresh Styles for Today’s Riders (2017-2023)
From 2017 onwards, Caberg released models that combined bold aesthetics with functionality. These included futuristic open‑face helmets, sporty touring designs in composite fibres, panoramic visors on flip‑up shells, lightweight jet designs, and aggressive models aimed at younger riders. More recently, they added graphic-rich styles and updated modular designs approved under the latest safety regulations.
Fifty Years of Innovation (2024)
In 2024, Caberg celebrated its 50th anniversary with the Drift Evo II a top‑range full‑face helmet available in both fibreglass and carbon versions. This helmet introduced the innovative SOS Medical ID system, allowing riders to store medical details and emergency contact information inside the shell for increased safety.
