Held Exosafe D3O Motorcycle Protector Vest Black
The Held Exosafe D3O Motorcycle Protector Vest in Black 01 is a close-fitting protective layer with integrated D3O protection for the back, chest, ribs and coccyx. Article 92280 combines substantial impact coverage with stretch mesh, ventilation panels and a detachable kidney belt for use beneath suitable abrasion-resistant motorcycle clothing.
The Exosafe Vest is certified to EN 17092-6:2020 as a protector garment. It is designed to hold the armour securely against the body, but it is not a substitute for an abrasion-resistant motorcycle jacket.
Who Is It For?
This vest suits road, touring, adventure and off-road riders who want one coordinated protective layer beneath their outer motorcycle clothing. The breathable construction is particularly useful when separate armour needs to remain secure without adding another heavy outer layer.
Protection
- Back: Held Exosafe D3O protector certified to EN 1621-2:2014, Level 2.
- Chest: Held Exosafe by D3O protectors, article 092227, certified to EN 1621-3:2018, Level 1.
- Ribs: Held Exosafe D3O rib reinforcement.
- Coccyx: Held Exosafe D3O coccyx reinforcement, Level 2.
- Protector-garment certification: EN 17092-6:2020.
- Manufacturer-stated impact value: 7.50 kN.
EN 17092-6 covers Class C protector garments, which are intended to provide impact protection but do not provide the abrasion protection required of an outer motorcycle garment. Always wear the Exosafe Vest under compatible abrasion-resistant motorcycle clothing.
Construction and Comfort
- Sensitive mesh outer construction with breathable mesh panels.
- 3D air-mesh panels across the back promote air circulation.

- Removable protector assembly allows the vest to be washed in accordance with the care label.
- Detachable kidney belt for additional support and secure positioning.
Material Composition
- Upper material 1: 91% polyester, 9% elastane.
- Outer material 2: 81% polyamide, 19% elastane.

Held Exosafe Vest Fit Guide
Measure around the fullest part of the chest while wearing the thin base layer you expect to use beneath the vest. The armour should sit securely against the body without gaps, excessive movement or restricted breathing.
| Listed Size | Indicative Held Chest Range | Held Protector Measurement |
|---|---|---|
| S | 90 to 93 cm | 64 x 33 |
| M | 94 to 101 cm | 64 x 33 |
| XL | 110 to 117 cm | 69 x 34 |
The final column reproduces Held's model-specific length-by-width figures for the protector. The chest ranges are taken from Held's men's regular-size guide. Body shape, torso length and the position of each protector remain important, so use these measurements as a starting point rather than a substitute for checking the fit.

Product Questions
Can the Exosafe Vest be worn instead of a motorcycle jacket?
No. It is an EN 17092-6 protector garment and must be combined with suitable abrasion-resistant motorcycle clothing.
Are the chest and back protectors included?
Yes. The vest includes the Level 2 D3O back protector, Level 1 D3O chest protectors, rib reinforcement and Level 2 coccyx reinforcement described above.
Can the vest be washed?
Yes. Held describes the protector assembly as removable and the vest as washable. Remove the armour and follow the sewn-in care label before cleaning.
How should it fit?
It should fit close enough to hold every protector in the correct position, without creating pressure points, restricting breathing or moving when you change riding position.
Warranty
Held provides its standard two-year warranty, subject to its current warranty terms and normal exclusions for wear, misuse and accident damage.
