Fit and security guidance

Disc-lock compatibility depends on the shape and dimensions of the motorcycle's brake disc. Before ordering, check that a suitable disc opening can accept the 10 × 5 mm bolt and that the lock's 70 mm inner clearance suits the intended mounting position. ABUS provides a model-specific Lockfinder, but recommends treating its fitment information as guidance rather than a guarantee.

Fit the lock where it cannot contact the wheel, caliper or surrounding components as the wheel rotates. Always remove it before riding. A bright reminder cable can be useful, but is not listed by ABUS as supplied with this model.

For longer parking periods or locations with a higher theft risk, ABUS recommends adding another lock that secures the motorcycle to a fixed object. A disc lock does not anchor the motorcycle, so layered security is the better approach when practical.
